Spinach Dip


  • Teaspoon of olive oil

  • ¼ teaspoon of salt

  • 1 10 oz. package of fresh spinach

  • 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper

  • ¼ cup of grated fresh Parmesan cheese

  • ½ cup basil leaves

  • 1/3 plain fat free yogurt

  • 1/3 cup of less-fat cream cheese (softened)

Utensils Required:

  • Large Skillet

  • Spoon

  • Medium size bowl


  1. Place olive oil in skillet and turn stove on medium heat

   2. Add salt and stir spinach until spinach softens

   3. Cook spinach about 8-10 minutes until it is a smooth spinach mixture

   4. Turn heat off, drain liquid from the pot, let spinach cool for 4-6 minutes

   5. Place the spinach mixture into a bowl, press and drain until mixture is barely moist

   6. Add the cream cheese,  sprinkle 1/2 cup of basil into the bowl

   7. Mix ingredients until smooth

   8. Pour mixture into a bowl, add 1/3 cup of plain yogurt and ¼ cup Parmesan cheese and stir

   9. Chill in refrigerator for 7 mins
