
Pico de Gallo

Ingredients:

3 tomatoes

1/2 medium yellow onion

1-2 cloves garlic
-
1 tablespoon cilantro
-
1/2 jalapeño
-
1/2 lime, juiced
-
salt, pepper, and other spices
Utensils:

cutting board
-
chopping knife
-
medium bowl
-
tablespoon

Directions:

Wash all produce before use.

Dice tomatoes into small pieces (chunks should resemble picture).

Cut jalapeno pepper in half and set one half aside. Remove seeds from the other half and chop into small pieces.

Cut up cilantro into small pieces.

Break off one clove of garlic and peel off the skin. Dice garlic clove into small pieces.

Peel the outer skin off onion and then cut the onion in half. Set one half aside. Take one half and chop into small pieces (approximately .5 inch pieces).

Place chopped tomatoes, pepper, cilantro, garlic, and onion into a medium sized bowl. Take half of a lime and squeeze it’s juice onto the ingredients.

Stir all ingredients together while mashing them a bit as you mix. Add salt and pepper to your preferred taste. Serve with tortilla chips.
