Baked Apple Tortilla Chips

​​Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of 10-inch round tortillas

  • 2 large golden delicious apples

  • cinnamon sugar

  • butter

  • whipped cream

Preparation Time: 25 minutes

Utensils:

  •  measuring spoons

  • cupcake tin

  •  small skillet pan

  •  knife

  •  cutting board

  •  basting brush 

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat (heating beforehand) oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit

  2. Rinse apples under cool water and place on chopping board then cut them into bite size chunks

  3. Place small skillet (which is a frying pan) onto stovetop and turn heat to medium then place one to two tablespoons of butter into pan

  4. Once skillet heats up place apples into pan along with one tablespoon of cinnamon and two to three tablespoons of sugar and cook until apples have softened

  5. Take tortillas and cut evenly into fours

  6. Place butter in bowl and melt in microwave for 10 seconds

  7. Using pastry brush (utensil used to spread butter/ oil, similar to a paint brush) lightly apply melted butter to tortillas then sprinkle on top one tablespoon of cinnamon and sugar

  8. Place cut up tortillas into cupcake tin and bake in oven for 10-15 minutes or until tortillas are golden brown

  9. Remove cooked apples from stove and set aside until tortillas are ready

  10. Carefully remove tortilla cups from oven and cupcake tin once they are crisp

  11. Take cooked apples and spoon the mixture into warm tortilla cups. Add a dollop of whip cream and serve
